Frequently Asked Questions
-
Sessions begin with a relaxed conversation to explore what has brought you in and what you'd like support with. You'll then be invited to lie comfortably on a treatment table for the main experiential part of the session, where a range of therapeutic approaches may be used depending on your unique needs.
Towards the end of the session, you'll be invited to sit up again. We can either remain at the treatment table or move back to the conversation area to debrief, reflect on your experience, and answer any questions before you leave.
Every session is unique and unfolds at its own pace, with your comfort and wellbeing at the centre of the process.

Yes. Gentle therapeutic touch is an integral part of Sunara's approach and is used to support grounding, nervous system regulation, and the therapeutic process.
During the main part of the session, gentle touch may be applied to the hands, wrists, tops of the shoulders, behind the head, the sternum (breastbone), abdomen, or outer thigh, depending on the needs of the session. All touch is gentle, respectful, non-invasive, and used solely for therapeutic purposes.
Your practitioner will explain the purpose of any therapeutic touch and seek your consent before initiating contact. If you have any questions or concerns, they are always welcome and can be discussed before or during your session.

Many people come to Sunara seeking support for challenges such as anxiety, burnout, chronic stress, insomnia, grief, emotional overwhelm, or feeling stuck in recurring patterns.
Rather than focusing on managing symptoms alone, our sessions explore the deeper emotional, nervous system, and life experiences that may be contributing to how you're feeling. Every person's journey is unique.
Sunara is not a medical or psychological service and does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If you're experiencing severe or ongoing mental health concerns, we encourage working with your GP or a qualified mental health professional alongside your sessions.
-
No. You don't need to hold any particular spiritual or religious beliefs to benefit from a session at Sunara.
We simply ask that you come with an open mind and a willingness to explore whatever arises during your experience. Some people connect with the work in a deeply emotional or psychological way, while others experience symbolic, ancestral, or past-life themes. Every person's experience is unique, and there is no right or wrong way for a session to unfold.
-
That's completely okay. You don't need to have everything figured out before you arrive. Together, we'll explore what's present and identify the areas that would benefit most from support.
If you already have a particular challenge, recurring pattern, or intention you'd like to explore, letting us know at the beginning of your session can help us spend more time working deeply with that issue.
-
Every experience is different. Some sessions involve vivid imagery or strong emotions, while others are subtle and deeply calming. There is no right or wrong experience, and meaningful insights and shifts often continue to unfold in the hours or days following your session. The most important thing is to approach the process with curiosity, openness, and without fixed expectations.
-
Yes. Everything shared during your session is treated with respect and confidentiality, except where disclosure is required by Australian law.
-
Wear comfortable clothing and come with an open mind. Taking some time to reflect beforehand on what has brought you here or what you'd like support with can help guide our work together.
After your session, if possible, allow yourself some quiet time to rest, reflect, or journal, giving yourself space to integrate what we've explored into your everyday life.
